Charles E BrownCharles E. Brown started his study of music at age 4. Early on he began studies with the world-reknowned pianist Vladimir Horowitz. While studying with Horowitz he also began organ studies with famed organist Virgil Fox.

Brown made his debut under Leonard Bernstein when he was asked to be a last-minute substitute. After completing his undergraduate work he went on to study improvisation in Paris. These studies included compositional techniques under one of the most important composers of the 20th century: Igor Stravinsky. Brown also continued his organ studies with Oliver Messiaen. Because of his friendship with Stravinsky, Brown became good friends with the legendary 20th-century artist Pablo Picasso. Picasso became an artistic influence for Brown.

Upon returning the US, and after a stint in the US Navy, Brown’s life took a sudden and unexpected turn when his love of modern technology developed into a profession.

In 2002 he developed an association with the then Macromedia Corporation. He continued his association with Flash, Flex, and related products after Macromedia was purchased by Adobe.

Today, in addition to being the author of 9-books, Brown has served as a consultant for companies like AT&T, Verizon, NASA, The Federal Reserve and JP Morgan-Chase. He also conducts frequent training seminars in Dreamweaver, Flex, Flash, Captivate, CSS, HTML and JavaScript. He also maintains a busy schedule performing as an organist, pianist, and accompanist.
